Natural Resources Group Part-time Temporary Position
The Atlanta Regional Commission’s Natural Resources Group (NRG) has a part-time temporary position available to support the work of the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District (the District) and other NRG initiatives. The intern will provide general assistance for the District’s Education and Public Participation Awareness Program. Duties include participating and providing support for various outreach events, campaigns and contests of the District, and communicating with the public about water conservation and stormwater pollution prevention. Occasional weekend tabling events are required.
The District was created by the Georgia General Assembly in 2001 as the designated agency for water resource planning in the 15-county metropolitan Atlanta area. The District represents 15 counties (Bartow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale), 95 cities and includes over 50 water and wastewater providers. In its 15 years of existence, the District has produced three rounds of water resource planning documents with the first release of the Water Supply and Water Conservation Management Plan, the Wastewater Management Plan, and the Watershed Management Plan in 2003 and the most recent update in 2017.

Time Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week through July 1, 2020
Compensation: $12-14 per hour
