Public Health Analyst-Opioid Response

Summary: Under general to limited supervision, collaborates with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, District Attorney, treatment and recovery centers and the Public Health prevention and treatment communities. Will facilitate and educate, promoting the use of ODMAP (an overdose mapping tool) collecting relevant public health data for information sharing. Coordinate all planned training activities of ODMAP. Represents the agency as the subject matter expert, on conference calls, during meetings and email exchanges. Assists in the promotion of the Opioid & Substance Use Response Plan and HIV/Hepatitis/OD Response Plan. Prepares reports, posters, fliers and charts as a visual presentation of data collected. Works with District Epidemiologist, collecting and organizing public health data for submission to the state. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of experience related to area of assignment.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree and background with EMS or law enforcement background. Participated in new program development. Recent experience working in a key supportive role for a state or regional opioid/substance abuse/overdose response program. Experience working with first responders, public health and/or healthcare communities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Salary Information: $40,000-$45,000 annually / Pay Grade J
