We are a Plaintiffs’ firm that represents individuals and families from all over the United States in the field of law typically described as complex litigation of mass torts. Our firm has over 30 years’ legal experience and is constantly expanding into new areas of the law. Our practice focuses on products liability, such as defective drugs and medical devices. On behalf of our clients, we sue some of the world’s largest companies – these lawsuits are typically reported in the Wall Street Journal and other major publications.

Our firm is growing in both size and resources with offices in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. Our Atlanta office opened in 2014 and is expanding rapidly. We have recently moved to a new, bigger office to accommodate our growing staff and need to hire an additional Legal Assistant to help with case management.

Hours are generally M-F 9AM to 6PM with some flexibility to help with the commute. Compensation starts at $15/hour, depending on experience and education.

Knowledge of Word and Excel is required.

We will give special consideration to anyone who has experience in legal, technology, or medical fields, and to fluent Spanish speakers.

As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with our attorneys to investigate and review our clients’ unique legal challenges. The investigation includes calling clients and healthcare providers, responding to discovery requests, and summarizing medical records. You will also track court deadlines, draft court petitions, and provide status updates to the attorneys and the clients. For cases selected for trial, you will work with witnesses and the defendants' attorneys to schedule depositions. The support provided by our legal assistants helps our attorneys provide exceptional legal services to our clients.

Duties and skills needed will include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing for trial and scheduling depositions;
  • Working with attorneys to establish procedures and process for teams;
  • Updating databases with detailed notes;
  • Use probing questions to identify needs or information to move projects to a conclusion;
  • Producing quality results;
  • Recommending improved procedures;
  • Routine office duties, which may include copying, scanning;
  • Enjoys taking the lead and encouraging team members to stay motivated;
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm and knowledge of trial preparation;
  • Working well within a team environment with multiple bosses;
  • Being accountable;
  • Forming strong working relationships within a team and treating others with respect and
  • courtesy;
  • Bringing issues to the attention of an attorney; and
  • A willingness to ask for help and give help to others.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous work experience in an office environment a plus..
  • SQL programming knowledge, medical or pharmacy knowledge a plus;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Confident, assertive, flexible and adaptable to change;
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress;
  • Strong verbal communication, listening skills, and excellent writing skills;
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Must be able to successfully understand workflows;
  • Energetic, quick learner, and flexible;
  • Manage multiple projects in various computer programs (Dropbox, Google, database);
  • Organized and detail oriented, and exhibits sound and fair judgment;
  • Identifies additional tasks to be completed and willingly assists others;
  • Spanish speaker a plus

Full-time, may consider entry level applicant, and part-time depending on school schedule, qualifications, and experience
