Sustainability Analyst Intern
Key Role: The Sustainability Analyst will gather, document, and evaluate key reporting data throughout the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification timeline. The Sustainability Analyst will work with the Sustainability Project Coordinator to ensure all necessary data has been acquired and verified as LEED compliant. This position is ideal for the college student or recent graduate interested in gaining professional experience relating to sustainability and green building practices.
Timeframe:
· 4 month internship (1 semester, ideally January through April), 16-20 hours per week
· Start and end date based on intern availability
Primary Job Duties:
· Gather and evaluate reporting data
· Verify sustainable best practices and LEED compliance
· Support Project Coordinators in achieving proper documentation
· Streamline the data acquisition and analytic processes
Secondary Job Duties:
· Create blog posts relating to sustainability and green building practices
· Research emerging green building innovations and technologies
· Support and improve the green practices in the Atlanta office
· Contribute to the company’s internal sustainability reporting
Skills Required:
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
· Strong computational skills
· Organizational skills and strong work ethic

· Interest and passion for sustainability and green building practices

· This position will facilitate a learning experience meant to enrich the participant’s knowledge of sustainable best practices for businesses, especially as it related to green building best practices.
· Real work assignments relating to LEED projects and research into new sustainable technologies within businesses. The intern will have the chance to author blogs posted on SIG’s social media and website pertaining to the candidate’s sustainability interests.
· Routine feedback will be given to the Sustainability Analyst to maintain a high level of transparency between the Intern Coordinator and the chosen intern to achieve a balance of professional development and personal growth.
Required Education: University degree in progress (or recently graduated with a B.S. or B.A.). The ideal candidate will be studying or will have recently studied concentrations relating to Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Architecture or Engineering.
